What is more important, victory abroad or prosperity at home ?

Military spending is out of control as is, and is the largest portion of every dollar we give to the federal government in taxes. Pulling out of the conflicts we are currently involved in would reduce the economic and social strain of keeping hundreds of thousands of servicemen abroad and also bring them back home, something that I figure both the servicemen and their families would be glad for.
