I ve Sony HD HC9 Camera. I m trying to connect Final Cut Pro with firewire?

We are using MAC OS X (ver 10.4.10) with Final Cut Pro software (ver 5.1.4) for editing. W r trying to capture footage from SONY HDR HC9 Camera with firewire But not happening. I ve another SONY DCR HC 30 camer and from this camera I can capture footage on to my mac operating system. So please help me to connect the HC 9 camera to FCP. Thanks
