Mentorship in the Iliad?

In my english cl we have been reading the Iliad. We just finished the trojan war and we have to write an essay about mentor ship in the Iliad. I'm a little confused by it though because i can only think of one real example. Athena was a mentor during war but im not really sure how to explain that. The only other example I could think of is Achilles and Patroclus, but im not entirely sure that he was being a mentor. Can anyone give me examples of mentors during the trojan war or help me describe my examples?
