John McCain (who, in 1983, voted against Martin Luther King Day) once again today put himself on the wrong side of history. After saying repeatedly that he would support a repeal when the military did right up until the military actually did, he made a ridiculous speech to keep DADT in place. How bad would this country be, both economically and socially, had McCain been elected in 2008? Not to mention the horrors we would face if he croaked and left Vice President Gump in charge.
