How do you think Obama would handle the Georgia crisis if he were President?

Moving forward into including Georgia into NATO may have been a political 'bridge too far'. Just as we consider the entire western hemisphere in the US sphere of influence, Russia legitimately feels that certain countires on it's borders are in its sphere of influence. As most of Russia's oil exports go through that small slice of Georgia and hence a good deal of its national income it's understandable that Russia has national security issues there. The Bush administration believed that the russians would roll over for Georgia entering into NATO and US missiles in Poland, another 'bridge too far'. Without going to war with Russia there really isn't anything we can do except to accept the reality of the situation and attempt to cut the best deal that we can...that would be in everyone's interest. Neither Obama or McCain can unring the bell struck by the Bush administration and nobody is going to go to war in Europe over this.
